A native of Cashel, Connemara, Fr. Conal was ordained in 1976.  He was appointed Professor in St. Jarlath's College where he served until 1993 when he was appointed C.C. in Clifden from 1993-2003.  Returning to the staff of St. Jarlath's in 2001, he was President from 2003-2008.  In 2008 he became P.P. of Ballinrobe and in July 2015 became P.P. of the combined parishes of Kilmaine and Ballinrobe.  In July 2016 he became P.P. of Castlebar.
