Jubilee Year of Mercy

REEK SUNDAY – JULY 31ST 2016

 

The annual pilgrimage takes place on the weekend of July 29th to 31st this year. There is a very strong focus on Pilgrimage during this Jubilee Year and it is a tremendous privilege for us to have this National Pilgrimage taking place in our own Diocese. It is a wonderful opportunity to participate in a Year of Mercy Pilgrimage.

 

Garland Friday July 29th – Local Pilgrimage

10:00am. Mass on the summit of Croagh Patrick celebrated by Westport native Fr. Tod Nolan.

7:30pm. Mass at Murrisk Community Café – Croagh Patrick Car Park.

 

Reek Saturday July 30th

6:30pm Mass for the opening of the Pilgrimage celebrated by Most. Rev. Michael Neary, Archbishop of Tuam & Most Rev. Charles J. Brown, Apostolic Nuncio to Ireland who will preach the homily. Westport Parish Church.

 

Reek Sunday July 31st

7:30am. – 2:00pm. Confessions on the summit.

8:00am. First half hourly Mass on the summit.

8:30am. Tóchar Phádraig pilgrimage begins at Ballintubber Abbey.

10:00am. Aifreann Lán Gaeilge ar barr Cruach Phádraig
