With the election of Pope Francis, the church has put a fresh focus on the importance of supporting family life and on what the church needs to do to help families live contentedly and well in a very different world. At the Family Centre in Knock Shrine, we seek to be in Pope Francis’ words a ‘field hospital’ for those who are broken, a place of joy for those celebrating, a place of quiet for those searching and a wellspring of hope for those who feel lost. All of these elements are part of the backdrop to Knock Shrine holding its first ‘Family Focus Week’ this year.
